Affiliate disclosure

We earn a commission when you buy through our links — it’s how Koi Cocoon stays free. It never changes what we recommend; the rulebook doesn’t know who pays us.

What we earn

Koi Cocoon participates in affiliate programs with a handful of home-goods retailers. When you click a product link on our site (in the catalog, in a prescription, in a guide) and buy at that retailer, we may receive a small commission. Prices you pay are the retailer’s — the commission is paid to us by the retailer, not added to your cart.

Programs we participate in (as of 2026-08-10):

  • Amazon Associates — as the site earns eligibility (see /guides for context)
  • CJ Affiliate — pending publisher acceptance (Wayfair brand family: Wayfair, AllModern, Joss & Main, Birch Lane, Perigold)
  • Impact — pending publisher acceptance (Target)

How it doesn't change our recommendations

The rulebook doesn’t know who pays us. Rules fire on your room’s facts — inventory, dimensions, household, budget — and produce issues in a fixed order (severity, then category). The prescription then picks the highest-priced product that fits your budget tier and resolves the issue, from the same catalog every user sees. Commission rate is not a ranking input; we’ve never overridden a lower-commission product to surface a higher one, and the code that would let us do that doesn’t exist.

When we can’t find a product that fits your tier, we say so and offer a “shop your own home” zero-dollar move instead — even though we make nothing on it. That’s the point.

What we send when you click

Outbound affiliate clicks carry click and session identifiers the retailer needs to attribute the sale to us — and nothing about your home, household, style profile, or the rest of the account. (This is a hard requirement in our privacy page, item 7.)

Amazon-required disclosure
